The Delaware Division of Public Health is encouraging teens who participated with senior week activities to get tested for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) after other attendees tested positive.
Officials say at least three out of more than a dozen teens living in a rental unit in Dewey Beach tested positive.
The teens attended several “crowded gatherings” in Rehoboth. DPH officials say they exposed as many as one hundred people to the virus.
DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay said “It is important for teens participating in senior week activities to consider themselves at-risk, and get tested for, COVID-19.” She continued “Just because we are reopening, does not mean the virus is gone. It does not mean the risk is gone. It does not mean things are back to normal.”
