Senator Chris Coons Holds Milford Town Hall: Talks Guns, Border, Healthcare & More

Milford, De. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — At a town hall at the Milford Fire Hall on Wednesday evening, Delaware’s Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Coons sounded off on a variety of hot button national issues.

The Senator namely talked about gun control, the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border and healthcare. When discussing illegal entry into the United States and possible legislation surrounding it, Senator Coons said “I don’t think the left end of my party or the right end of the other party has all the answers on this, I think there is an answer on this and it’s in the center, but if we think we can pretend we can be a nation with wide-open borders we can’t.”

Sussex County is predominantly conservative, voting for President Trump and Mitt Romney in the last two presidential elections, and choosing Coons’ opponents in both 2010 and 2014. However, the crowd was largely respectful of the Senator despite disagreements.
