Ocean City Woman Arrested for String of Sussex County Burglaries

Frankford, De. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — Delaware State Police have arrested an Ocean City woman for two burglaries at the same residence in Frankford.

Troopers say on Thursday evening, they were dispatched to a residence in the area of Star Lane and Peppers Corner Road for a burglary in progress. At the home, they met with the homeowner who was holding the suspect at gunpoint awaiting police’s arrival. The suspect, identified as 42-year-sold Maureen Gray sustained minor injuries during the struggle and was transported to Bebe Medical Center, treated and released.

An investigation uncovered that Gray entered the home through an unsecured front door while two residents were inside. The home was also burglarized back on the evening of August 9. Gray was later identified as the suspect in that incident as well.

Gray was charged with 2 counts of Second Degree Burglary, 3 counts of Theft, Reckless Endangerment, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief and Attempted Theft. She was arraigned and committed to the Delores Baylor Women’s Correctional Center on 14,700 dollars cash only bond.
