Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan announced on Thursday that hotels and short-term rental properties in the town are reopening.
The order is effective as of 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 14.
Mayor Meehan said “The town is currently working with the Hotel Motel Restaurant Association and Chamber of Commerce to ensure we follow stage one of the Maryland Strong Roadmap to Recovery and Back to Business Pledge.” He continued “We encourage residents and visitors to follow health and safety guidelines, including physical distancing and gathering limits.”
The decision to reopen hotels and short term rentals follows the reopening of the beach, boardwalk and inlet last Saturday. It also precedes the beginning of phase one of Maryland’s road map to recovery.
