Fire Heavily Damages Talbot County Building


Queen Anne, Md. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a serious fire that broke out at a commercial building in Talbot County over the weekend.

The incident happened after 3 a.m. on Saturday morning at a two story commercial building i the 30000 block of Park Avenue in Queen Anne. The fire was spotted by a passerby and it took 60 firefighters primarily from the Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company about an hour to get the blaze under control.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says 275,000 dollars in damages were caused to the structure, and 75,000 dollars in damages were caused to it’s contents. The fire started in the inside of the building and it’s cause remains under investigation. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
