BREAKING NEWS: Juvenile Services Worker in Salisbury Tests Positive for COVID-19

A Department of Juvenile Services employee working at the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center in Salisbury has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), becoming the first case within a state agency.

Officials say the employee last worked at the facility on March 27 and has been in quarantine since that time. All staff and youth who were in contact with the worker are in quarantine as well. All facility staff and youth have been directed to wear face masks.

The Maryland Health Department and DJS are working to confirm the test results.
